Karen Lawson, Ph.D.
As a neurolinguist, Dr. Lawson has worked in New York as the Executive Director of Clinical Associates for Rehabilitation & Evaluation and the Center for Cognition and Communication, as a Research Associate at the Institute for Research in Behavioral Neuroscience and as an Instructor at the Department of Neurology at New York University Medical Center. An active member of the Board of Directors of the Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation (Grenada), Dr. Lawson is also a member of the New York Academy of Sciences and the New York Neuropsychology Group. She is also a certified brain trauma therapist.
Abishek Bala, MD, MPH
Clinical Services Consultant
Abishek Bala, MD, MPH is a psychiatry resident from Central Michigan University and a graduate of the MD and MPH programs at St. George's University, Grenada. He is keen on dedicating his career to improving the quality of life of infants, children, and adolescents around the world through culturally cognizant, community based health interventions.
Jerry is a graduate of the Grenada Boys Secondary School and was previously caregiver at Father Mallaghan’s Home for Boys. Since 2011, he has been instrumental in developing our youth life skills program, including counseling, yoga, sports, and drumming. He has completed a Karma Kids Teen Yoga Teacher Intensive Training and a Yoga Alliance certified 200-hour training course. Jerry is trained in classroom management and Conscious Discipline. He works hard to ensure that vulnerable children in residential homes have every opportunity to experience a healthy mind, body, and soul and believes that he has found his life's mission.
Transitional Living Coordinator
Troy Clarke, our Transitional Living Program (TLP) Coordinator, was born in Grenada and spent over twenty years residing in the United States. Some of his previous job titles included Transitional Specialist at the Ali Forney Center’s residential facilities for LGBTQ youth. Along with earning his Bachelors Degree from Buffalo State College, Troy also holds his National Institute of Corrections Facilitator Certification from the NY State Division of Criminal Justice Services and his Family Development Credentials (FDC) from the Department of Youth and Community Development from Cornell University. Troy has over fifteen years of experience in social work and is excited to bring his skills to Reach Within where he hopes to give young people in adverse situations the opportunity to soar to their full potential.
Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator
Lorna Douglas has been working with Reach Within since 2008. She previously worked as a Liaison Officer and a Mentor Programme Coordinator and is now focussing her talents on overseeing the efficacy of Reach Within programs. Lorna still mentors clients in the Transitional Living program and provides her expertise in caregiver trainings. Lorna holds a certificate in Community Development and a Diploma in Management at the University of the West Indies (UWI). In 2012, she completed the Conscious Discipline Course at the St. George’s University and the Conscious Discipline CD1 at the Summer Institute in Florida, USA. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in administration, business and non-government organizations (NGOs). Lorna was born and raised in Grenada.
Program Development Consultant
Rosy began her career as a YMCA Infant and Toddler teacher before returning for a Master’s Degree from the Bank Street Graduate School of Education. She has supported children’s development for over 15 years in both educational, healthcare, and NGO settings. Rosy has worked in Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean specializing in the caregiver-child relationship and play. Rosy is honored to work with Reach Within staff in Grenada and humbled by how much children who have experienced adversity are able to find resiliency.
Head of Social Media
Katia is a student at the Dalton School in NYC. She has been integrally involved in the development of Reach Within since its beginning and now leads our social media division. Her photojournalism skills have allowed us to capture the plight–and the hope–of the children with whom we work.
Graduating with a BA in the Philosophy of Science and Logic from Fordham University in 2009, Vincent Aloi worked for several years in non-profit development for Reach Within, helping to develop numerous fundraising campaigns that now form the core of our development strategy. Vincent is currently pursuing an MBA in International Business from Baruch's Zicklin School of Business and still advises on development campaigns.
John Chobor, Esq. earned his BA in Economics from Ithaca College and his Juris Doctorate from The National Law Center at George Washington University. John has dedicated the majority of his career to improving health care in the United States and served in leadership roles for many health-focused organizations, such as The Greater New York Health Care Facilities Association, Inc. John currently works in the legal division for Smile Direct.™John currently provides oversight for Reach Within’s compliance strategy.
Lindsay Eagleton holds a BS in Psychology from Union College in NY. She is a trained yoga teacher (200 hour) for adults, teens, and children with further certifications for at risk youth and pre-natal women. Lindsay has served Reach Within since 2009 in many capacities, including yoga instructor, program coordinator and director, and marathon coordinator. She helped created the Reach Within yoga deck and educational manual.
John S. Erwin is the senior shareholder of Erwin & Marcus, P.C., successor to the law firm of Hill, Ullman & Erwin P.C, of which he was a founding partner of in 1978. He supports Empire State Pride Agenda, New York’s statewide LGBT civil rights and advocacy organization; and consulted for the Peconic Land Trust for Southampton, New York. John graduated from Westminster College and received a Juris Doctorate from Union University Albany School of Law. John is advises on development.
Kathleen Kinsella is currently a Managing Director at CIBC Global Markets-US Fixed Income and Global Emerging Market Sales, joining the firm in 2013. Prior to that, she was Head of Emerging Market Macro Sales based in the U.S., joining RBS in 2010. Kathleen was also a Managing Director on the EM Sales Team at Citigroup for 12 years. Before Citi, she worked at Lehman Brothers for 9 years. Kathleen graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a BA in Economics and Sociology. Kathleen is Reach Within’s lead strategic advisor.
Mackenzie is a sophomore at New York University. He has helped to produce fundraising events, assisted in mentoring programs at care homes and in our Transitional Living Program, and has recently spearheaded the construction of a prototype of a small home for young men and women who have aged out of Grenada's care homes. Mackenzie continues to advise on project initiatives.
Aram Moezinia has over thirty years of experience with mergers and acquisitions, re-structuring, finance, licensing, deal structuring, management and strategic, and operational planning. Since 1980 Mr. Moezinia has originated and managed numerous investment transactions in the Life Sciences sector in Europe, Latin America, and the United States. Mr. Moezinia currently advises on strategy and organizational growth within the Caribbean region.
William serves as New Business Account leader for RTT & Bunkspeed, which creates photorealistic images and animations for designers and marketers as well as advertising. William brings 12 years of success producing large scale digital projects that increase revenue and engagement. He is also co-founder of The Men's Collective & The Ladies Collective, creating luxury experiences for culturally adventurous professionals in New York City. William currently advises on our marketing strategies.
