Donnet Williams, M.S.

Manager 

A childhood fascination with the mind and human behavior, coupled with the aspiration to be of service to others, fueled Donnet’s educational and career path in Counselling Psychology. Donnet has worked at her alma mater - St. Joseph’s Convent, St, George’s, in an outpatient Behavioural Health clinic in Oklahoma, and has been employed as a manager and counsellor for the Child Protection Authority, Grenada. Donnet currently manages the operations of all Reach Within programs. With a Masters Degree in Behavioural Sciences and extensive experience in the utilization of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Donnet also endeavors to help clients move toward psychological fruition and overall increased quality of life.

 

Lorna Douglas, Dip. Man.

Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator 

Lorna Douglas has been working with Reach Within since 2008. She previously worked as a Liaison Officer and a Mentor Programme Coordinator and is now focussing her talents on overseeing the efficacy of Reach Within programs. Lorna still mentors clients in the Transitional Living program and provides her expertise in caregiver trainings. Lorna holds a certificate in Community Development and a Diploma in Management at the University of the West Indies (UWI). In 2012, she completed the Conscious Discipline Course at the St. George’s University and the Conscious Discipline CD1 at the Summer Institute in Florida, USA. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in administration, business and non-government organizations (NGOs).

 

Jerry Bascombe, RYT

Program Coordinator 

Jerry is a graduate of the Grenada Boys Secondary School and was previously a caregiver at Father Mallaghan’s Home for Boys. Since 2011, he has been instrumental in developing our youth life skills program, including counseling, yoga, sports, and drumming. He has completed a Karma Kids Teen Yoga Teacher Intensive Training and a Yoga Alliance certified 200-hour training course. Jerry is trained in classroom management and Conscious Discipline. He works hard to ensure that vulnerable children in residential homes have every opportunity to experience a healthy mind, body, and soul and believes that he has found his life's mission.

 

Troy Clarke, B.A., FDC

Transitional Living Coordinator 

Troy Clarke, our Transitional Living Program (TLP) Coordinator, earned his Bachelors Degree from Buffalo State College.Troy also holds his National Institute of Corrections Facilitator Certification from the NY State Division of Criminal Justice Services and his Family Development Credentials (FDC) from the Department of Youth and Community Development from Cornell University. Some of his previous job titles included Transitional Specialist at the Ali Forney Center’s residential facilities for LGBTQ youth. Troy has over fifteen years of experience in social work and strives to give young people in adverse circumstances, the opportunity to soar to their full potential.

 
 

Melvaughn Coutain, Master 

Program Officer

Melvaughn Coutain is an accomplished Master ITF Taekwon-do instructor and coach, having received his I and II Dan ITF Taekwon-do black belts. As a qualified naturopath and certified Wellness Consultant, Melvaughn has also trained extensively in massage, reflexology, acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Melvaughn is a community activist and has received training in anti-bullying methods from Dogpund Mixed Martial Arts School in Canada. Melvaughn is instrumental to Reach Within as a Program Officer, providing rhythmicity sessions, life and job skills training in gardening, and mentoring for young people living in residential care homes.

 

N’Diera Viechweg, MPH

Grants Coordinator

N’Diera Viechweg holds a Master’s in Public Health from St. George’s University with a focus on Health Policy & Administration. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude from CUNY Hunter College with a BA in Human Biology. N’Diera brings her research knowledge from Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation (WINDREF) -along with her experience in supporting children and young people living in residential care in Grenada- to Reach Within’s grant funded projects. N’Diera is instrumental in managing grant activites, coordinating across teams, implementing M+E plans and reporting outcomes. With diverse and creative talents, N’Diera also guides Reach Within’s social media strategy.

Kandace Douglas

Reach Within Board Co-Chair, Real Estate Sales and Marketing Director, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Kandace began her career in NY luxury real estate 15+ years ago. With family roots in Grenada, it was her love of new development real estate and a desire to be an integral part of Grenada’s growth that inspired her move to the island in 2021. With extensive studies in spirituality, mindfulness, and self-development, Kandace prides herself in finding ways to infuse these teachings into all aspects of life. “My purpose in this life is to shift the paradigm. To be of service. To lead with authenticity, intention, and the highest vibration available to me.”

Christan Jawahier

Christan holds Reach Within’s first-ever Junior Board position, bringing great insight into Grenada’s child welfare system. He is passionate about mentoring teens younger than he regarding the importance of work, education, and daily life skills. He is a graduate of Presentation Brothers’ College. Christan is an accomplished basketball player, coach, and violinist. He is currently a member of the Apprenticeship Program of Grenlec, where he works as a linesman.

Kathleen Kinsella

Kathleen is the Managing Director at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), specializing in Global Markets-US Fixed Income and Global Emerging Market Sales. Previously at Citibank, RBS, JP Morgan, and Lehman Brothers, she has had longstanding expertise in economics and finance. She is a graduate of Phillips Andover, Dartmouth College, and Mount Holyoke College. An avid all-around athlete, Kathleen has run the NYC and Boston marathons as a charity participant. She serves on the boards of Reach Within (since 2005) and EMpower, combining her interests in emerging markets and philanthropy, bringing a growth mindset and optimistic perspective.

Mason Kirby

A distinguished architect with extensive experience in designing for a range of clients, Mason holds a B.A. in Urban Studies from Columbia College and a master’s from Yale School of Architecture. As a US Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional, he deeply understands sustainable solutions. A former faculty member at the University of San Francisco, Kirby has also contributed to contemporary live/work housing research and served on the State Agency Environmental Task Force for Washington State. He has also served as a Senior Board Advisor for Scholarship and Grant Making to Plan-it NoArchitect and founder of Mason Kirby Inc.

Karen Lawson, Ph.D.

Board Co-Chair & Director of Reach Within, Karen has had extensive experience in the research of brain and behavior and clinical care. Her work as Director of the Institute for Behavioral Neuroscience, Instructor of Neurology at NYU Medical Center, and Clinical Director of the Clinical Assoc. for Rehabilitation & Evaluation (NYC) has informed the Reach Within model. She is a Board Member of Windward Islands Research & Education Foundation and the Queen Elizabeth Home for Children. Her doctorate in neurolinguistics is from CUNY Graduate Center. She is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher.

Trace McCreary

Trace founded Varden Capital Properties (VCP) as a real estate investor and developer in late 2011.  VCP develops, builds, and buys apartment complexes in the Southeast with a significant value-add component through renovations and/or operational improvements. Prior to real estate, Trace worked as an investment banker doing corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions, including Salomon Brothers/Citigroup, Credit Suisse, and Barclays, and was briefly a corporate lawyer at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.  Trace is a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, MN (magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa) and Yale Law School. 

Nisha McIntyre

Nisha is a marketing strategist and consultant, writer, artist, event coordinator, and most of all a proud Grenadian. She is head of My Grenada Solutions, Inc., a licensed marketing agency for Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment Programme (CIP). She aims to help Grenada actualize key socio-economic projects that will help disadvantaged individuals improve their quality of life while simultaneously supporting Grenada’s development; her company strategically elevates the economy while also supporting the development of longer-termed strategic initiatives.

Brandon McLaren

Canadian American actor Brandon Jay McLaren is well known for his extensive work on both the big and small screen. Notable television credits include the fan favorite 'Elijah Stone" on the hit ABC action series The Rookie and  'Buckley' on the acclaimed FX series Snowfall. Born and raised in Vancouver, Brandon is of Trinidadian and Grenadian descent. A star soccer player in his youth, he received a full athletic scholarship to attend the State University of New York at Albany, graduating with a BSC in Human Biology; McLaren now resides in Los Angeles, working as an actor, producer, director, and musician
