It Takes a Village

“If you don’t have caregivers who are looking deep within a child to bring out the best in them, you won’t have a prosperous nation.”

- Sister Francis Nelson, Founder of the Child Protection Authority of Grenada

Reach Within exists within a community ecosystem, including local engagement and cross-sector partnerships that are integral components of our model. We work to strengthen the voices of young people affected by trauma as we work alongside teachers, justice advocates, politicians, healthcare workers, clergy, and local businesses in order to create a trauma-informed community. This community recognizes that early childhood trauma directly correlates with later-life mental and physical health and well-being.* Over time, these consequences can spill over into education, job, juvenile justice, and healthcare sectors. We also recognize that hope and faith in Christ, as practiced by the children, along with our community-based interventions, can turn the statistics around.
